FORMER GC & Co sec, cpo. executive coach

Claire Chapman

Claire brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience spanning legal, governance, regulatory, and people functions. She has held executive roles—including General Counsel, Company Secretary, and latterly Chief People Officer—at leading organisations such as Hargreaves Lansdown, Capita, Inchcape, and Thomson Reuters.

Her diverse background covers sectors including financial services, retail and distribution, data and technology, and both public and private sector outsourcing. This breadth gives her a unique perspective across UK and international markets.

Claire has advised organisations navigating complex change, major transactions, crisis and reputation management, regulatory compliance and investigations and stakeholder engagement—at both the organisational and individual level.

Passionate about leadership in times of change, Claire is also an accredited executive coach. She works with senior leaders to sharpen their strategic thinking, improve decision-making, and increase their impact—particularly at the executive and board levels.

For over 15 years, she has supported individuals at key career inflection points, helping them transition into new leadership roles. Her work focuses on developing frameworks that enable leaders to adapt their skills, contribute effectively to strategic planning, and challenge management thinking  — enhancing their influence both as leaders and as subject-matter experts.

Claire has a strong track record of aligning leadership outcomes with organisational strategy, risk and culture.
